Ingredients

10 ozs Unsweetened chocolate
8 ozs Unsalted butter
16 ozs Splenda granular

9 Egg yolks
1 Pinch salt
5 Egg whites

Directions

Preheat oven to 300F degrees.

In a bowl placed over a pan of simmering water, melt the chocolate with the butter.

Beat the splenda with the egg yolks until smooth.

Mix egg mixture with the chocolate away from the heat, adding it gradually.

Beat the egg whites in a clean bowl with a pinch of salt until stiff.

Fold into the chocolate mixture gently but thoroughly.

Have 2 greased 7 inch cake pans ready.

Divide about 2/3 of the cake mixture between the pans and bake in the oven for 1 hour.

Meanwhile, keep the remaining chocolate cake mixture/mousse in the refrigerator.

Let the cakes cool.

Spoon mousse mixture over the cake base and sandwich the two halves together.

Eat warm or cold.

This is a basic chocolate mousse mixture that ends up like something between a souffle and a sqidgy cake. When sandwiched with the layer of the chocolate mousse it is unbelievably wickedly rich!
