Ground Beef & Cabbage

Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
3 tbsp. oil
1/2 head of cabbage (about 3 cups, coarsely shredded)
2 tbsp. carrots, shredded
1 bouillon cube
1/2 cup water
garlic powder to taste
1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
onion powder, black pepper, and salt-all to taste
1 small tomato, thinly sliced
shredded parmesan and/or romano cheese



Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degreees.

Combine ground beef, onion and garlic powder in a skillet and saute uncovered for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to break up meat mixture. Drain off any fat. Put in a 2-qt. casserole dish. Add cabbage and all but last 2 ingredients and toss well. Cover casserole and bake at 350 for 1 hour. remove cover during last 15 minutes, top with sliced tomato and shredded cheese and return to oven for last 15 minutes of baking time.
