Ingredients

4 Ham steaks
2 t Finely chopped onion
1 t Brown sugar twin
2 t Irish whiskey
2 T Butter
1/2 t Xanthan gum
3/4 C Water
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Brush ham steaks with melted butter.

Snip fat to prevent curling, and grill for 7 to 8 minutes each side.

To make sauce, gently fry onions in the remainder of the butter until tender. Remove from heat and stir in xanthan gum a little at a time while constantly stirring.

Gradually add stock, stirring constantly. Return to heat.

Add brown sugar twin and simmer about 2 minutes.

If sauce seems thick add a little more water.

Add whiskey and season to taste.

Place gammon steaks on a warmed platter and pour on the sauce.
