Chocolate layer cake

Ingredients

Cake:
6 egg whites
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp almond extract
1 1/2 c Splenda or sugar twin
1/4 c slivered almonds
Chocolate Cream Filling:
1/2 c Splenda or sugar twin
1/4 c unsweetened cocoa
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c heavy cream
1/4 cup cream de cacao

Directions

Cake:

Preheat oven to 300*F. Beat egg whites, cream of tartar and almond extract in a large mixing bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually add Splenda. Continue beating until stiff. Spray non-stick cookie sheet with cooking spray. Spread meringue into three 6-inch circles. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from cookie sheets immediately. Cool. Place one layer on serving plate. Spread 1/3 of chocolate filling on top. Add another layer and spread 1/3 of filling. Continue until layers and filling are used. Sprinkle almonds over top. Refrigerate overnight for best result.
