Cajun Steaks

Ingredients

1-1/2 to 2 lb. round or skirt steak cut into serving sizes (I cut up an eye-of-round roast into steaks)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp dried thyme
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp parsley (optional)

Directions

Half an hour before cooking, salt the steaks to taste. Mix the oil and spices, then smear everything on the steaks; wrap in plastic or put in a ziplock bag and let sit at room temperature 1/2 hour. Then grill or broil as you like. Put on a plate and put the butter on the steaks and let sit a couple of minutes. Sprinkle with parsley if you like.
